The Governor's chicken is great! The General Tso's chicken danced on the tongue. Delicious.

Overall a great dining experience. Lunch here is moderately priced and the food is hot and fairly quick. Parking is shared with other local merchants but never seems to be an issue.

5 stars is a stretch for all those posting. It is good for sure, worth going to. I just don't see 5 stars.

If you're looking for great Chinese food this is a can't miss! Tasty dishes with fresh vegetables and not over powering sauces. The soups were just right, complete with a bowl of chips and the Spring roll was just the right size. The service was fast and friendly and the place was really clean & didn't smell like a lot of Asian restaurants. Didn't try the desserts but the table next to us was having cheesecake that looked pretty good. They said it was good!

Great food but kind of pricy! Will serve clean cut chicken and has the option of no msg.

Great location, food, prices and people. No wonder this place has been such a success over the last ten years or so.

Always such a good place to get Chinese food. This place has been here a long time and is always delicious. I always get the lemon chicken and it never fails. The staff is always great and helpful.

I've been here twice and the first time was pretty good (but maybe bc we were dining with one of the regulars) It wasn't all that fantastic the second time around. My daughter who is a noodle eater didn't eat it at all. We tried the lo mein with beef and it tasted bitter (no wonder!) Then, we ordered the pork noodle soup to see if my daughter would eat it and.... nope. Basically, we wasted a lot of food that evening. We also ordered beef with veggies and it was just ok. Maybe we ordered the wrong things this time around. Although, the chicken fried rice was good but the cold corona was even better! With all the other great restaurants in the heights, not sure I'd make an extra trip to come back. =/

Best best best Chinese food I've had in Arkansas. I've eaten here one time but will go there again if I can catch them open. I had the moo goo gai pan and loved it. The food is fresh and flavorful. The hot n sour soup was the BOMB! Not your typical china buffet here. It's the full menu kind. OMG. We tried it on a suggestion of Renee Shapiro from Saturday Daybreak! Thank you Renee!!!

First timer.,,I came in around 2:20 not knowing they close at 2:30. Ordered quickly and the food came out fast. I ordered the Tokyo city I think ??? Shrimp, chicken and beef in brown sauce. It was tasty. Would come back.

Having grown up eating at "authentic" Chinese restaurants in a city with large Asian populations (dim sum was my first meal at a restaurant), I can be hard to please, but I enjoyed my food here. I wish the ma-po tofu had been spicier, but that's my palette. The hot and sour soup was exceptionally good. Everyone working here was sweet and friendly.

I had mapo tofu and my gf had the governor's chicken. The food was ok but wasn't great, i'd say the right rating for this place is about 3 1/3 stars.. Chi's is better in terms of taste and authenticity (assuming you are ordering out of the chinese menu) but I would still go back to this place because of ther ambience and location.

I have been missing decent Chinese food, and Fantastic China blew all my expectations out of the water. I went in for a late lunch (around 1:30 pm) and got seated and served in record time; like, from walking in the door to getting the food to my table, it was under 15 minutes. It was speedy for any restaurant's standards, especially considering there was still a healthy amount of diners in the restaurant. The lunch prices were crazy low, and my meal came with the entree, rice, soup, and an eggroll. I got the kung pao chicken, and it had an amazing ginger flavor. The chicken was cooked to perfection and didn't have the cheap breading on it that some greasy takeout joints will use to hide the fact their sauce has no flavor. If I had to make any complaint, it would be that there was a little less chicken than I was expecting. I might try a dinner sized serving to see if I could get more. Altogether, though, Fantastic China really hit the spot in terms of service, price, and flavor.

I have tried on three separate occasions to like this place. Every time I determined wouldn't try it again. I live within 4 blocks and would live to love it. However, they need to upgrade their offerings. Everything has the same smoky, oily taste. Perhaps this comes from old cooking utensils that have not been properly cleaned? The dishes have very little differentiation. Desperately want a good Chinese restaurant in the heights !

After reading reviews as we waited for our table, and then our waitress, I at first disagreed with the reviews complaining of slow service, but 15 minutes later here we still are... They need to have one more server on the floor. Ah but now the food arrives...Delicious, non-greasy, authentic, either the best locally or in a close runoff for it. The moo shoo pork, general's chicken, governor's chicken and orange beef were wonderful and we've had good shrimp in the past. Food so good one can overlook lackluster service.

Take out Chinese is easy to make crappy. This wasn't one of those places. It's actually a place that makes me want to give lower stars to other chinese places that I have given 5 stars. The General (I assume General Tso's) chicken was awesome. Spicy and sweet. It also came with a huge side of fried rice. It seemed like white chicken meat, and was very tender and lightly battered. We also got the Chicken Lo Mein. A great amount of chicken and good seasoning on the lo mein. The spring rolls were great and the cream cheese wrappers were interesting. more than a tablespoon of filling and fried right. Can't wait to order from here again!

Wow! This is the best Chinese in Little Rock! This is your classic family style Chinese restaurant. These are the flavors of my childhood. I grew up going to the same style restaurant. The double cooked pork is phenomenal! The hot and sour soup is a 10/10!! The service wonderfully precise, just as all good Chinese restaurants should be!

I am a creature of habit...if I'm in Little Rock, I'm making a stop at Fantastic China. This place is consistently delicious! The interior is sleek and stylish, with efficient, amiable service. However, I come for the food. To start, I love their egg drop or wonton soups - both are wonderful and they don't skimp on the fried wontons! As far as entrees, you can't go wrong with the hibiscus chicken (chicken with snow peas, water chestnuts, and asparagus in a white sauce). Their sweet and sour shrimp is always spot-on. Prices are reasonable and their lunches are a great deal. I love this place and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Slow to be acknowledged and seated. Once seated, service and food was outstanding! Chicken curry is just amazing!

If the service was on par with the food, this would easily warrant an extra star. Unfortunately, the waitress we always draw here has little personality, is slow, and seldom gets orders correct. The food is decent if you can past the service.

Lovely decor, friendly greeters, and tasty food. BUT... The service was lacking sincerity or finesse and worst of all: they use MSG. So, if tasty Chinese food that has you reeling with dizziness and headaches from a severely spiked sodium level is your bag -- bon appetite!

Friendly employees as you enter the door and very attentive wait staff. The menu was pretty large with a variety of things to order. The bf and I just stuck with general tso's chicken and sweet & sour chicken. The menu could have explained better what the dishes were or had in them but overall the food was good.

not bad for a chinese food restaurant in little rock area..the staff are friendly..i ordered the beef with vegetable combination, scallop and shrimp in sizzling plate and mapo tofu.. CONCLUSION = RECOMMENDED!!

The food was a little over priced for what it was. I have had better Chinese food from a buffet that's been sitting out for 2 hours. The atmosphere was so quiet you could hear everyone else's conversations and I felt like I had to whisper. Most people like this place because of its location but food is just average.

Kavion and her crew at Fantastic China offer the best Chinese food & service of any place in LR. I love my traditionals like Moo Goo Gai Pan or Sweet & Sour Chicken, but they have lots of spicier dishes, like the Steak with Taipei Style. Try it!

I would like to give this restaurant 5 stars, because the food is great. It is the service that is horrible here. I would agree that Fantastic China has some of the best Chinese food around, although my suggestion for the chicken dishes would be to stop using breast meat and use thigh meat. Breast meat and tenders become dry and a bit tough when cooked over high heat as they do in Chinese dishes. Thigh meat on the other hand is fatty enough to retain the moistness and tenderness and actually has a good flavor in Chinese dishes. The major disappointment is the service. It is horrible to say the least. It took forever to be waited on, the waitress was rude and had a bad attitude, and worst of all, the refilling of the drinks was atrocious. One of my biggest pet peeves is my drink at a restaurant. I can't excuse running out of something to wash the food down. This waitress knew the glass was almost empty and proceeded to go by other tables and even try to clean up another table before finally deciding to refill the glass. Then later it was not even half empty and she came by and grabbed the glass without even asking, then was gone for several minutes, all while I had just taken a bite of food and was nearly choking by the time she came back. They should definitely have a policy of just bringing another glass to the table instead of taking the old one away to be refilled. The restaurant was not busy at all, so that is not an excuse for such bad service. In addition, the employees at a Chinese restaurant should be Chinese. Our waitress apparently was Mexican and should not have been working there. If I go to a Mexican restaurant , I don't expect to see Chinese people working there. To sum it up, I would go back for the food, but if I wanted reasonably good service, I would go somewhere else.

We had lunch here yesterday and I was seriously underwhelmed. Great service, friendly staff, but the food was just not that good. Maybe I'm spoiled from going to Chinatown in Los Angeles, but my beefs seem pretty reasonable. First, no green tea. They brought us Lipton tea that had been made long-long time. Nasty bitter as old tea always is. Then I ordered shrimp with spicy garlic sauce. Shrimp were over-cooked and mushy, and were not spicy by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, it was so sweet I could barely stand it. The sauce was so thick and sweet, I'm pretty sure it was made with Karo syrup. Just nasty. I would have sent it back but my parents are regulars there. Back in the day, the only Chinese place in town was "Hong Kong Restaurant". I rue the day Billy Woo died. Maybe her son can come back from Texas and show these people what Chinese food is supposed to be. Final Determination: Epic Fail. With a cookbook, a wok, and a gas-burning stove you can do better at home, fo sho.

It truly is FANTASTIC! The garlic chicken is phenomenal. It's so fresh, never greasy, just great food in a great location. It's also very well decorated and the staff is friendly. For Chinese in LR, don't go anywhere else!! They deliver, too!! And they're super fast!

Ditto to the above excellent review. I eat at Fantastic every other day. You rarely have to wait, and the food is consistently hot and fresh. The ower is there most of the time overseeing service.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
